APU stands for Accelerated Processing Units, AMD calls it Fusion for marketing purposes. You selected an AMD Fusion CPU in the build above. The integrated GPU for these processors rely more on RAM speed than Intel's current offering. Therefore, faster RAM = better for these APUs.

That is why he suggested that RAM which overclocks very nicely. And if you did game on this (without a dedicated GPU) then the faster RAM will be more evident.

Now does this RAM overclock better than others due to the clock speeds or the frequency? New to how RAM effects the APU, let alone overclocking.

That was my thought too. As far as I know, overclocking the RAM would increase the power consumption. Wouldn't this defeat the purpose of buying the cheaper RAM?
