I've been using my Gunnar Optiks Scopes for the last few weeks on and off (even worn them to a football game) and I love them.

They definitely reduce eye strain not just in relation to technology but in general.

The slight zoom was really handy especially on smaller displays and even helped when watching the footy! XD

I definitely notice my eyes are severely less red and tired thus I can play games longer and enjoy myself on the computer for longer periods of time. The tint really helps a bunch.

I love the look of them, very stylish indeed.

I've never wore glasses for long periods of time before but Gunnars get gradually more comfortable. I think the first few hours it took some time to get adjusted and also a few more hours for them to feel comfortable whilst wearing my Beyerdynamic DT 770 headphonse, but after that I haven't even noticed they were on.

I don't think it 'enhances my gameplay' but it definitely lets me have more enjoyment as I can play longer.

Just one point to note, they do actually smudge fairly easily. Maybe that is a feature Gunnar can fix in the future. I know they said that they are fairly good smudge resistance but with me and my long eye lashes and trying to drink hot drinks, they get fairly dirty or smudged and I have to clean them after every use. The cleaning cloth given is OK but I have another microfibre cloth that I am using that helps more I think.

Overall I am really happy with them! Well worth the money I paid and I even ordered a carrying case for them. I think in the future I might order a clear (non-tint) or some outdoor glasses. I like the nerdy look whilst walking around, glasses seem so 'hip' nowadays haha.

I agree. I love mine. So comfortable that I forget I am wearing them until I go outside and notice that everything is yellow .

I have been so impressed with them that I bought a pair for my wife (works at her computer for 4-6 hours a day), and my brother (6-8 hours a day doing CAD work). Both are very impressed. I will probably be adding a second pair for myself as well as I would like to have a work set and home set. I cannot recommend these enough.

Have you been to the eye doctor recently? A lot of people think they have 20/20, but sometimes they don't. In the rare cases where people get increased headaches, it's almost always due to needing a prescription in the eyewear, and the slight magnification may indeed multiply this effect. Thank you for the rave review! Re: the smudging, unfortunately that's not really something we can fix as it's a result of our proprietary anti-glare coating. In fact, this is common in any other high end eyewear with anti-reflective coating. To clean - you have the right idea. Use the micro fiber to wipe, or a combination of light soap, water, and air drying or compressed air.

Also - if you play with the nose pieces, you may be able to lift them out of reach of your eyelashes. I've definitely had that problem before too!

20/13 vision from an eye doctor's appointment about 8 months ago (requirement of job). No problem on giving them a try, it seemed like a great idea. I'm definitely stuck with cleaner and a gunnar glasses case now. $30 worth of accessories not being used.

Anyone want to buy em off me? I should be able to fit that in a small box/envelope and ship it your way for $20 or so?

Bought Poseiden and I each a pair of Vaypers back during the March sale. Here’s our collective review:

PACKAGING:

Poseiden: Nice and sturdy, I knew there wasn't going to be any problems with it.
InfernoReaper: Secure. Yeah, find something sharp (cheddar maybe?). Surprised to find a soft case included, though I use it purely for cleaning.

FIRST IMPRESSION:

P: Shiny. Weird to get used to.
IR: Extremely light, but still secure. Fit under my Razer Carcharias fairly well.

ANIME/MOVIES:

P: Great colors, didn't know there was much more brilliance of colors in both.
IR: I really only wear them to help with bright movies. The tint bothers me in dark areas. Not bad though.

GAMING:

P: So much easier to see things in dark lighting games, without having to adjust graphic settings.
IR: Colors pop more in LoL; noticeable difference in Battlefield 3 spotting enemies. Portal 2 almost hurt to take the glasses off during the loading screens.

READING:

P: Takes some of the strain off reading my kindle fire, but don't use much past that.
IR: No digital readers for me. Nothing noticeable dealing with printed books.

DAILY USE:

P: Great! Relieves a lot of strain that monitors bring.
IR: Great for web browsing. Large monitors have a lot of open real estate (usually) and it takes away from the large amounts of white background that attacks my eyes like 1000 Cornish game hens. I prefer these in place of my Oakley Splinter sunglasses on overcast/cloudy days as it adds quite a bit of contrast to the road.


PROS:

P: Lightweight, adjustable, and great coloring it affects
IR: Lightweight, comfortable, stylish? (I don’t really wear them outside), definite reduction in eye strain/fatigue

CONS:

P: The damned fingerprints invade from nowhere. Don't entirely fit well with my SteelSeries Siberia V2 headset, the pressure on the sides bends the nose out.
IR: Adjusting to the color differences, but that’s quickly resolved. Finding the damn fingerprint fairy that keeps touching my glasses while I sleep.

FINAL THOUGHTS:

P: Happy with them, was skeptical at first, but changed my mind after i got used to them.
IR: No cleaning cloth and no sample of i-AMP cleaning solution. Nothing big, just would be nice to try. Overall, I’m very impressed with them. Sounds odd, but I’m glad I didn’t try them while at Blizzcon because I’d have had to buy the Vaypers when they came out too. Recommended to everyone and anyone who sits behind a computer all day.
