At least in ME1 there was outside fighting in the mako and then fighting inside the facility itself. I even remember one sidequest where u had to kill some criminal kingpin, where u fought in the mako outside the facility, fought through it and then exited on some other side of the planet and were outside again where the kingpin and his bodyguards were sniping u from some serious range. The sidequests in ME3 are just the white cerberus hallways or the rusty brown tuchanka hallways and ramps, I do not know of these uniquely mapped places you speak of. Please give me an example?

Example. Look at the MP maps which are in the SP. Or the cerberus scientist side mission. Or the ardat-yakshi side mission. All of them are bigger, less linear, more open and original when compared to any side mission in ME1 which had 4 maps for a combined +40 missions. It sounds ridiculous for you to nitpick the same hallwa texture when you're ok with the exact same map 40x over (texture and layout).

The mako was the worst part of ME 1. Hold down turret, shoot rocket, jump over incomming rocket, repeat. After my 3rd thresher maw I about died of boredom

From Ashes is a 600 MB+ download with all new content, including the mission on Eden Prime, new dialogue options and conversations with Javik, new cinematics, the Prothean weapon, and new appearances for all squad members. All of the above content was completed while the main game was in certification and are not available on the disc.
As stated previously, in order to seamlessly integrate Javik into the core campaign, certain framework elements and character models needed to be put on disc. We did something similar with Zaeed and Kasumi in Mass Effect 2.

Yea, we've been telling this to everyone on the thread for two days now. Not sure why they would start to listen now. If they're not going to listen to a game developer about game development, I'm not sure who they would listen to.

Of course, it depends on why they're "angry", I've seen many reasons.

1.) Angry at all DLC being on the disc from day 1: As it turns out, all the DLC was not on the disc from day 1. So anyone in this category should take a hike.

2.) Angry at any DLC being on the disc from day 1: People in this category are being unreasonable. What is the point of wasting extra space on the DVD/Blu-ray and forcing people to download the files instead? Also, as EA has pointed out, those files were necessary in the core content.

3.) Angry at DLC being available day 1: Be angry if you would like, but most people would prefer to have the extra content sooner rather than later. Also, because the DLC wasn't complete before certification, if they had included this content on the disc(s) then it would have pushed back the release date. Not to mention they may not have had enough space left on the DVDs to store the extra content.

4.) Angry at the DLC having details in it that should have been in the main story: Opinionated. If you don't like the details that are in the main story, then don't buy the game. How is that different than any other game with a bad or incomplete story?

5.) Angry that there is DLC at all: Ridiculous. Plenty of people out there want more content, why would you deny them the extra content? So long as the main game is complete enough without the DLC then this is ridiculous.

Overall the thing that bothered me most about this thread was how people would argue with you, but wouldn't listen to what you were actually saying. How many times in this thread was it stated that only 7MB of the ~560MB DLC was on the disc, and then we would get the response to the article or video posting about Valik being unlocked? Valik WAS the 7MB of DLC we were talking about, I'm not sure why that is so hard to understand.

General rule to follow in life: Don't argue about something you do not understand. If you don't understand it, then strive to. Once you actually understand what it is you're talking about, if you still want to argue at that point, then go for it.

This sums it up nicely.

Pretty much the arguments contained after page 10 are unrelated or just going in circles at this point.
