as a gamer chip 960t will be fine for a few years for sure, and especially if you can overclock at around of 4Ghz.

if you cant hang in there get the 960t. i just picked one up unlocks fine and i had it overclocked to 4.7 on water ruining at 4ghz stable 24/7 its a good little chip i upgraded from a 955BE that i still have an love. i would pick a 960t just for the fact that there cheaper and get a piledriver if you so chose when they come out by then you might have enough for one.
and still have the 960t if you want to just build a computer around it and have the fx chip for another one.

Reverse that around completely.  The 6100 is arguably more ideal for gaming.

At 4 cores, the 960T can provide better multithreaded performance than the 4100 and probably is equal with the 6100 - albeit at the cost of higher power consumption.  The 6100 does not provide as good multithreaded performance but that is due to the architecture design.  It is, however, more power efficient than the Phenom II x6.

The FX-6100 can be overclocked to higher clock speeds which can provide superior single-threaded performance at lower power consumption on 1-3 core loads with a nice boost on 4-6 core loads still present.

The 960T can unlock to 6 cores but that is NOT A GUARANTEE and you should not be basing your purchase decision too much on ability to unlock.  It does, however, cost less, and that might and can be a major deciding factor for you.

if you have $200 for a chip, then get the 8120 or the i5K SB. they should perform better than two you're considering.
