No signal from monitor.

Thread Starter
Processor: AMD Phenom II x4 940 3.0Ghz
Graphics: SAPPHIRE TOXIC 6950 2GB
Mobo: Asus M47A9 Deluxe

Recently after a night of having my computer off and trying to boot my PC I get no signal to my monitor, yet the PC itself appears to boot just fine, this had begun to happen frequently. The only way to fix it is to remove my CMOS battery for about 30 minutes and trying again. I've tried removing and replacing other components but nothing seems to work except removing the CMOS battery.

Today for the first time it happened while my PC was running. I had just logged into windows and tried to open firefox and boom, monitor goes black and says no signal but PC seems to still be running. Any idea what could cause this?

Most likely a failing PSU, or it could be a failing GPU, but most likely, the PSU. You can check it with a multimeter or you can just swap it out with one you know is good and see if the problem is resolved. Taking out the CMOS battery for 30 mins also means you're keeping it turned off for 30 mins. I'd bet you don't have to take out the CMOS battery for the 30 mins but instead just need to let the PSU cool down and then it'll work again for a few minutes until it fails for whatever reason it's failing.

Good luck my friend!
