ASUS SSD Caching

3X faster performance at a click
SSD Caching from ASUS is easier than ever. At 3X faster, this feature boosts system performance by using an installed SSD with no capacity limitations as a cache for frequently accessed data. Harness a combination of SSD-like performance and response and hard drive capacity with just one click, no rebooting needed and instant activation for complete ease of use, and even prevent data loss with included backup functionality.

Hmmmm, anyone know anything about this? What does it do? Does it make your SSD 3 X Faster? I smell false advertising here...

it doesn't make the SSD 3x faster. it allows you to use a small SSD as a cache for your large hard drive

Man, I sure hope this feature becomes popular later on....

Though it seems like something you would use for a Workstation / Server more than a normal PC...

Benchmarks are slowly trickling in, its either two E5-2687Ws or two E5-2690s.

I might be thinking about this.

Use it as my home server. No need for HTPC, or gamer rig, etc..  just virtualize everything...?

For just the CPUs and the mobo, yeah. That hurts!

Me, personally, I'm going to get either a Tyan S7050WGM4NR or an intel S2600CO4 and do the esxi thing. I will get a normal X79 setup for my gaming and hyper-v stuff. I can't have a TX-10D and only have one tray occupied, after all.

AMD 4p with opteron 6174 (like what derickwm has) beats the 2690s for less... a lot less
