Also try running disk cleanup, you can clear out the pre-SP1 files that are no longer needed.
I had Windows 7 running on a 30 GB OCZ Vertex 1, so I know there are some optimizations you can do.. look for Sean's guide in the SSD section here on OCN

Yeah I disabled System Restore. Didn't touch virtual memory though. Either way, I think I would be happy with just Red Hat on here if I can figure out how to use it.

Anyone know which drivers to download for HD 3000 Graphics?: http://intellinuxgraphics.org/2012.02.html
