Not really. Aside from a handful of whiny gamers nobody really cares. I could really not care less how they get art into a game, I just want a game that I enjoy. Video games are my career and I don't take them half as seriously as a lot of people here. Do you guys ever just sit back and enjoy your games, or just read about them on forums and complain about them?

Because it further amplifies the fact that game developers (whether under pressure from publishers or not) are becoming increasingly lazy and cutting corners to keep development costs low in order to generate as much profit for the publisher as humanly possible. Sequels have fewer features than the games before them, the features kept or added are streamlined and dumbed down to pander to every possible demographic (including grandparents), little attention paid to details in order to keep consistency across multiple games, and depth sacrificed for "epic" moments. It's all about instant gratification for both parties involved.

It is a fundamental shift. The question is now "how can we make the most money" instead of "how can we make an amazing game."

Most of you who say "Who cares, she's hot" are the reason we've gotten to where we're at in the first place.

That is a good point but from just 1 picture? I could understand from a game like pretty much all the CoDs after MW1 and a majority of sports games but this? It's just stupid.

The one picture is just a very blatant example of the underlying issue. It's a little unsettling seeing as they disregarded almost everything that set apart the Quarians from every other race, which is exactly the point I'm trying to make.

At this point I think it's pretty futile trying to convince the community that this isn't as small of a deal as they think it is. It was certainly a huge slap in the face for a lot of fans.

This pretty much sums up my story-related rants:

I don't get how people can get angry over this? I really doubt they did this to be lazy, just thought the picture was good and used it, not that hard to make something like that for a game. Maybe if they copied an entire map or something I could understand, but this is ridiculous.

Thing is, by using a stock photograph, it takes away from the authenticity of her character. She no longer feels like a unique character explicit to you, but rather a product or cardboard cut out of some person on the internet. Her frame on Shephard's wall is supposed to symbolize that relationship, and instead it feels as if you're looking at someone else's loved one.
