I was thinking of going with 2133 speed.

The memory you have now will work. I would suggest getting 4x4GB of 1333+. From what I have read, it's really not worth it to go any higher than 1600mhz, but someone else may chime in with good reasoning as to why this is not true. I would use what I had until I had reason to upgrade.

I will building this new rig from ground up, not reusing any parts from current rig.

If it were me, I would probably order

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145347

or

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233236

or the G skill equivelant, in the color you prefer. I think 1600 is fine, but 1866 isnt too much more. I don't think 2133 at 189 is worth it.

Was just looking at these.
$100 difference between gskill and corsair. Is the price difference in the name, or performance difference?

I am really not sure to be honest. For the price, I'd have to guess that the Corsair model is at least somewhat better, but I wouldn't put 100 dollars of my money into it to find out how much. I really think you'd be fine with the 99 dollar stuff, but thats totally up to you, and theres definately better people on here to answer that than me.

In this hobby, if you always wait for the latest and greatest, you will always have nothing.

basically the diference of the sticks is nothing other than branding and the number of sticks in a kit.. as for the CPU you can get a 3930K SB-E and towards the end of year sell it and upgrade to an Ivy bridge-E is what i would do if i went this way. since you have and LGA 2011 on the way or might have arrived by the time you get this post so and thing else will such as standard IB lga1155 will not work on the x79.. thumb.gif
