I recently started overclocking since i got my new amd 4100. I wanted to go through the bios but I got frustrated and went the easy way. I ended up using EasyTune and a thread from OC.net as a reference. After I successfully OC'd my CPU, I realized that CPU-Z was reading my multiplier as 16x when it was 18x on Easy Tune. CPU-Z also read 3.9ghz when EasyTune read 4.3. Which one is right? What's going on?
To be honest, the only real way to overclock your CPU is through the BIOS.
And it's not that hard after you find out where you change the Multiplier and other stuff.
Take a look at this, it may help you with overclocking your CPU.
I followed what the guy in the video did but i clocked it a bit lower than his. I rebooted my computer and now it doesnt even beep when it turns on. The nothing shows up on the screen and i don't know what to do!
EDIT: I managed to fix the problem by flashing my CMOS but I would still like to know how to avoid that problem in the future.
easytune6 does not change VID.
it's sets an off set for VcoreA.
Only AOD Changes VID for me. so if I set something like 1.55 on easytune6 the VID never moved on graph in easytune6
this is really annoying because the Bios on the UD7 does something like this where you can set high voltage like 1.675 and still end up with less then 1.500 in windows. and even less on load cause of Vdroop.
