I've just got an Asus M4A78T-E mobo delivered

Here it is: http://uk.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_AM3/M4A78TE/#overview

I had the DDR2 version of this motherboard but felt like an upgrade to DDR3!!

What is the best DDR3 ram for this mobo?? I am new to DDR3 so like some guidance, thanks

This is a hotly debated topic, and every person will give you a different answer.

Just a FYI "AMD AM3 100 and 200 series CPU support up to DDR3 1066MHz "

The motherboard supports up to 1600 MHz.

I'd go with something like this --> http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231400

But someone double check me to make sure this is compatible. :-)

Thanks for the information smile.gif

After researching, I'm stuck on deciding which ram to get out of these below. Which one would you say is the best?

Corsair Vengeance - http://www.dabs.com/products/corsair-vengeance-16gb--4x4gb--ddr3-1600mhz-cl9-xmp-79V3.html?src=2

Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer - http://www.novatech.co.uk/products/components/memory-pc/ddr3-pc3-12800/1600mhz/blt2cp4g3d1608dt2txobceu.html

Corsair XMS3 - http://www.ebuyer.com/247674-corsair-8gb-2x4gb-ddr3-1333mhz-xms3-memory-kit-cl9-1-5v-unbuffered-cmx8gx3m2a1333c9

Corsair XMS - http://www.ebuyer.com/274407-corsair-12gb-3x4gb-ddr3-1600mhz-xms-memory-kit-cl9-1-5v-cmx12gx3m3b1600c9

Also shall I go with 1333Mhz or 1600Mhz? And CAS Latency: 9-9-9-24 or CAS Latency: 9-9-9-27

You can never go wrong with Corsair. I highly recommend them. Its all I've ever used. I've owned the XMS3s and the Vengeance. Both rocked. The XMS' are good because they have a lower profile. The Vengeances look really tough but are tall. Between the XMS and the VEngeance the XMS feels more solid in your hand, and for you board that is what I would recommend. Go with the XMS3 1600MHZ! I loved mine. You'll love it too.

@OP

I've been using this board since 2009, great board.

I have not had good luck with G.Skill branded RAM on this board. OCZ has worked beautifully, Crucial, Patriot, Kingston, and most recently the Samnsung 30nm sticks that were such a good deal. thumb.gif

Go with 1600Mhz RAM - better headroom for overclocking.

Thanks smile.gif I really like the look of the Vengeance ram and I also like the look of the Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer cause of the smart LEDS on it.

Thanks for the info about the XMS! Its a very hard decision to pick. I bet you have been in the same situation so you know how I feel biggrin.gif

I'm def going to go with 1600Mhz
