ITs not, easily achievable. And windows still uses a form of co-operative multitasking, which flat out SUCKs at response time.

I don't see how if your are for example, in graphic art and need to make a quick finger sketch how any OS would impede that. If an OS can't handle a simple response time requirement then it shouldn't be in business at all.

I understand your concern, and I've experienced it too, for example I scroll down but the OS is lagging so I scroll again and I ended up scrolling twice and it has nothing to do with response time. But as the CPU can handle more and more loads I can't see it as being a significant problem, especially on specific apps...

The problem, is that since microsoft has stood their ground with co-operative multitasking instead of pre-emptive multitasking, the result will be that you will always have to wait for whatever is currently making use of the hardware, to release it.

Unless Microsoft plans to rewrite the kernel, to something like the BeOS design, they have their work cut out for them.Theres a compromise you take in throughput, by implementing such a design however. You trade user attentiveness, for computation output. Its not a huge trade, but its going to hurt crunching prowess 3-5% on average.

I support this, although I can't notice input lag on my 4s as opposed to my galaxy s2 where it's noticeable. The less lag the better, unless it comes at a massive price premium.

I think the S2 uses a 50 ms touch screen, but it's just a guess based on usage.
