I've never known newegg to screw up an order. If it says they have something in stock, they have it in stock.

Glad it worked out for you. smile.gif

An overclocked 480 will outperform a stock 580. Water cool them and they are amazing.

hey anubis1127- did you happen to see which version of the dd waterblobks were at Microcenter? if they were the ones with the black chrome covers over copper or nickle, I think i could be persuaded to buy em if your offer to pick em up is still good.

I'm a bit biased but I would encourage anyone that does not have a card that measured up to the GTX 480 to purchase it if they had the opportunity. GTX 480 is Hot...Check. GTX 480 Consumes Power...Check. GTX 480 is still a very fast and capable GPU even though it is almost 2 years old....Double Check!

They were still factory sealed, but it said they were the satin copper top, so no black chrome, sorry.

I'm not sure if I'll keep them both, I'll see what the return policy is like at TD, if it's a hassle, then I'll probably just keep it. I have a feeling SLI 480's would be pretty sweet, but I'd have to upgrade my PSU I think. I could probably get by running them with my i3, but with my i7 860 it may be another story once I start OC'ing the CPU and GPU's.

ahh damn, my least favorite of the bunch. Still a great deal, but I'm going to go with the aquagraFX blocks.

blockk.jpg

It comes with backplate too thumb.gif

backplatew.jpg

It cost me $250 for both blocks, but I think that I would regret not getting them if I bought the DD. I'm hoping to recoup the cost of the new cards by selling my quad sli 295's (dual pcb) with heatkiller blocks on 'em.

For anyone interested, both evga and EK have backplates available. If i was aircooling these, I would pick up a couple of these ---> http://www.evga.com/products/moreInfo.asp?pn=M020-00-000163&family=Accessories%20-%20Hardware&sw=4

Wish I would have seen this before they were gone. Would love a third 480. Just went from 2 GTX295s to 2 GTX480s an wow these are fast.
GTX 480 is on par with GTX 570. I got two 570s in SLI... and let's just say I won't have to think about video cards for a while.
