[Build Log] Red, White, Black - Chicago Bulls? - Page 3

Looks great man! Maybe a piece of plywood or a small table to put under your case. I just fear the amount of dust you can get into your case when the PC is on carpet.

Very nice build. I second what Ragster says. I have a board under my computer for two reasons - to avoid static electricity from the carpet and to provide a barrier between the computer and the vacuum when it rolls in here.

I'm curious about the build - is there not room to have the radiator barbs closer to the front of the case? I assume the xspc reservoir was in the way. Could it be mounted lower?

Enjoy your watercooled rig - love that case!thumb.gif

yeah. thought about that. was thinking of putting castor wheels actually. to have that spacing and also for more airflow for second rad in the future.

I think I'd have to mod the case to have the rad the other way around though. The barbs would be over the metal cover of the top 5.25 inch bay. Would look cleaner though.

Build looks great! I want to replace my h60 and kuhler 620, one of which is cooling my 2500k, the other is mounted to my gtx 580. Thought that I might as well go for a water cooling loop that would last for some time. But I decided I'll wait until I buy into the next high end enthusiast CPU class, and get my hands on a 680. (If I get enough from my summer job I'll upgrade sooner). Really nice simple wc loop.
Nice to see concise builds like this, although I'm not much of an AsRock fan.

Thanks guys biggrin.gif

Yeah was waiting on Ivy too to make another build, but figured I could use this 2500k on my htpc/server build and give the other to my brother plus I was itching to watercool tongue.gif Hopefully the parts last for some time. smile.gif

Well, they fit, but mounting holes don't line up. I had to drill some for my Coolgate 420. A user here reported he was able to fit his Black Ice Stealth 420, so I'm wondering if the SR1/GTX fit in the top without modification. Oh well, hopefully someone else will try this.

Black Ice Sr1 and GTX should line up. Both have the 20mm spacing needed to match the 810 holes.
Others are 15 or 16 mm...Too bad there wasn't a standard spec for the mfr's to follow.
The only problems are if you mount with the ports at the back, they are too close to the I/O plate to run hose. Best way is ports at the front. Also, you might want to either cut a hole or totally cut away the non-removable plate in the optical drive compartment. I seen on youtube, the NZXT CES 2012 demo had an oblong hole cut for the fittings and tubes. But still, if you don't cut the whole thing out, it blocks the front fan somewhat.

I've got a GTX 420 coming soon. Can't wait to get started on this bad boy. I have the black version 810.
