[Vortez] Lucid Virtu MVP (advantage of MVP start to surface) - Page 12

I tested few games with Hyper mode and/or Vsync enabled.

I will make some screenshots and post it.

This is starting to look like another way to cheat at benchmarks, just like AMD tessellation trick. If there's not fps improvement in actual games this is failure, just like Lucid Virtu was.

Ok !

I started with Battlefield 3 with all OFF then only Vsync and then all ON.
One thing to know : Battlefield 3 is not fully compatible with Hyper mode.

Battlefield 3 without Virtu MVP

Battlefield 3 with VSync only

Battlefield 3 with Hyper/Vsync ON

Hyper mode ONLY :

It seems activate Hyper only as same effect as VSync and Hyper both ON
Same FPS and FPS doesn't block at 60FPS.

We can say that it works but activating VSync or Hyper mode on Battlefield 3 automaticaly drops FPS down in a common situation...

Another game : FIFA 11 with ATI fix

I first started with ATI fix in settings, it lowers FPS so we can check if the Hyper mode will be usefull.
One thing to know : FIFA 11 is not fully compatible with Hyper mode.

All OFF :

VSync ONLY :

Hyper mode ONLY :

All ON :

FIFA 11 without ATI fix

All OFF :

VSync ONLY :

Hyper mode ONLY :

Hyper mode ONLY with in-game VSync :

ALL ON :

It seems to work much more on FIFA 11 and without ATI fix.

http://ca.asus.com/fr/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_1155/P8Z68V_LE/

this is what i have on my system .it sound an awfull lot like what is mentioned here!cant use anyway since i would need to use dvi port and i am connected to faster hdmi

It works with HDMI too.

Anyway, i-mode or d-mode are the same. i-mode means you connect your monitor to the iGPU and D-mode means you connect it to your GPU.
But in both case, you say to Lucid MVP to use D-mode so it uses GPU.

So either you connect iGPU or GPU you will have GPU same performance.

Unigine 2.5

Here is a benchmark :

All OFF :

uniginealloff.png

Hyper mode ON (with or w/o Benchmark VSync ON) :

uniginehypermodeon.png

Hyper mode bypass Vsync in Unigine again, I guess it does it for every applications. So is Vsync mode useless ?

All ON with in-game VSync :

Thanks for the nice benchies. It seems like the MVP actually drops minimum FPS, as shown on the Unigine benchmark. frown.gif

Sounds like more trouble than it's worth.
