The weight of the base is pretty substantial, and having the stand attached during shipping might be a bad idea. It sits like this in the box:
The screen itself is fairly protected but I'm thinking that some rough handling or turbulence could cause damage to the hinge -- especially if the monitor spends a lot of time upside-down or has an impact upside-down. Could just be a coincidence that two of the first few Crossovers showed up like this, but it will be interesting to see if more have the same problem.
I have the same problem. Not an issue for me though, I was only interested in the height adjustment. My first impressions of the stand were surprised and positive, it's a lot more sturdy than I expected, but this pivoting issue should be more talked about. I'm not going to mess with it since the whole thing is so damned heavy, but if you guys find a fix I'll have to have a look at mine too...
