Are EK radiators usually this disgusting?

Smells like death and it's rusty and dirty inside.
I bought it straight from the E.K. Website too..

I would say no, don't buy a block, unless you don't mind losing 35$ + shipping for a used block.

I think the paint job on that rad was done very poorly. Probably won't affect performance but it might be good to RMA. tongue.gif

It's not rust, it is just the copper showing, since they only put a super thin coat for paint on the fins it might have just wore off thumb.gif

what should I do about the smell, there,s a heavy metallic odor that fills my room. Should I just spray paint it? leave it in vinegar maybe?

Oberon, your radiator looks normal and has RoHS lead free paint/low solvent as well --- I would use o-ring seal plugs to seal ports and soak in hot water (140f - 60c) and dish detergent to clean OUTSIDE

vinegar will strip paint -- DO NOT allow any soap inside radiator and complete rinse with warm water after 1 hour soak

unpleasant radiator paint smell now the norm
