[Blizzard] Diablo 3 will launch WITHOUT PvP - Page 11

Activision has no say in this, at all. They have no power over Blizzard. They are equals, and Blizzard has independent operation.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
March 30, 2010: In a "Activision Blizzard restructuring move", the above often quoted CFO (Chief Financial Officer) Thomas Tippl is, according to Massively and the L.A. Times put in charge as COO (Chief Operations Officer) of the "Blizzard business unit", with Mike Morhaime directly reporting to him, according to Joystiq Tippl basically gets paid more, the more revenue the company makes:

Mike Morhaime reports to Thomas Tippl, who is under Kotick.

Blizzard is not run by Activision. There financial opportunities are definitely influenced by them..

Never really liked PVP, so I could care less. I'm excited for the game, but terribly disappointed that I still cant distribute my own stat points, and the lack of the traditional skill tree is a major let down, the whole rune idea is lame, but w/e. I'm sure I'll still like it.

But since they delay it, they are probably trying something with it.

I hope they don't make a premium shop with items that are overly overpowered. I've seen it to many times, premium items making someone dang near invincible in so many games.

They should only give a slight edge, not make you god.

Ok.

People clearly don't get the RMAH.

Only other players put up items there. You can use real money to buy other players items; but there aren't special RMAH only items.

Well when the drop chance on an item approaches 1 in several million, many items might as well be RMAH only.

But they are still obtainable in-game...

This is no different from all the RM buying people did on sites like Ebay way back when. Blizzard could never stop that, you just simply...can't.

But Blizzard, being smart here, decided to officially sanction it, in-game...which allows for them to not only make a profit, but takes away from those illegal traders in Diablo 2. If you can't beat em', join em', fits well here.

You can still buy items on the RMAH with in-game gold. So it is entirely optional.
