Really high temps on Zosma X4, Help!

Thread Starter
Hey guys I just built a new computer and the CPU is the AMD X4 Zosma 960T with the stock cooler. It's hitting temps of 51C at stock speeds and its worrying me quite a bit. The fan is spinning up really loud and I'm pretty sure its not supposed to be doing this.
Thanks for any help.

51C is fine, AMD's max temp is 62C. As for the fan... it's a POS 95w cooler, get a aftermarket one.

So you don't think its weird that its idling at 51? I meant to say that, its going up to 56 during the Windows Experience Index and the fan is super loud.

The 95w cooler is junk, even a cheap tower cooler will cool substantially better. If you'd like you can try reseating the cooler with better thermal compound and see if that yields any better temps.

Oh Idle.... ok, ya, something is messed

Maybe its time for a nice aftermarket cooler, or at least some new paste. I find CM High Preformance to work pretty good for how much you get for the price, but its no arctic silver.

If you have the room, even a 212+ or similar would work well, maybe even get it cold enough to unlock the extra cores.

I just don't understand why it would be so hot right after installing the stock cooler. This is the first time the computer is being used.

If you pressed down, lifted and down again there could be air bubbles or something.

And then the fact it came with a crappy 95w cooler didn't help either.

Since all stock coolers come with paste on them, i'm going to say its there, and there was probably just an issue applying it. Happens every now and again.
