Crucial m4 slow boot with usb 3.0 enabled

Hey guys, got an issue with my new m4. It's the 128gb, and for some reason if I have my usb 3.0 controller enabled in the bios my boot times get much slower, like 25-30 seconds. With the controller disabled it's about 8 seconds from splash to boot. Any ideas how I can fix this and still use my 3.0 ports? Thanks!

Hmmm, have you updated your bios? Maybe that's a good place to start.

Use AHCI during setup/format of the drive. Also force as master drive with a single boot partition.

I noticed this too, but as I am copying several gb folders from my Cf card out of my camera to my HDD I get more than double the transfer rate with the 3.0 USB so it is not worht the few seconds to boot up for slow transfer speeds for me.

Thanks guys! Looks like it's my external storage causing the issue. When I unplug it I boot in under 20 seconds from hitting the power button. Thanks again!!
