Well I have a 21" monitor so 1280x1024 would be nicer

Sooo....sli?

I'd get Dual-Core.

Epic is absolutely amazing at coding game engines, and I still think that it'll be CPU bottlenecked. 1280x1024 isn't that high of a resolution anyway, play Half-Life 2 @ 1920x1440 sometime like I do.

What card are you planning on getting if you do not go SLi? Cause I dont think your 9800 is going to be able to run UT2007 very well.

And if I had to choose I would say the CPU as DX10 is coming out soon, so no sense spending too much right now. If anything get a 7600GT to tide you over till then.

I'm gonna upgrade my mobo, CPU and vid card at the same time. I'd probably go for a 7900gto or 7950 for single-card.

I suppose that's true about DX10, but that also means I'd have to buy windows vista right? That would mean bye bye or crash-crash to Windows XP games right? I was under the impression that DX9 games won't won't w/ DX10?...

I would say get a E6300 and ram. If you don't want a E6300 just don't upgrade and get DX10 cards when they come out.
