[Softpedia]Gigabyte G1.Sniper 3 Intel Z77 to support 4-way CrossFire/SLI configurations. - Page 7

Saw the vid, a bit confused:
@1.25 guy introduces the plx chip
@1:35 says turns to 32 lanes
@1:40 "you can have two graphics cards at 16x...four crossfire 8x, and three sli."

This is very similar the the wonderful P8P67 WS Revolution as it supports 4-way crossfire and 3-way sli using the nf200. I'll wait for the products specs on their boards. Rumors are worth meh to me until Gigabyte officially releases their specs on their site. If it does do 4-way sli, would be nice to play with biggrin.gif

Is 4 four way SLI even supported on the GTX 500 series?

This was already mention ..this boards don't use old NF200 chips but the new generation minimum latency PLX
and yes i was little confused as well and didn't understand what happened between CeBIT2012 and now ..redface.gif

The Gigabyte program manager confirmed to Sin that it is 4-way SLI compatible just like the other PLX chip Z77 boards. Nothing in writing yet that I know of but the Gigabyte site is suppose to be updated reflecting the new information soon.

I like that board, reminds me of the old Nvidia 780/790i Intel 775 motherboards.

You must remember that most likely a 3770K is going to clock higher and be way faster in games than a locked CPU like the 3820. Not to mention there are no games that garner more performance over four cores. Unless you want the more cores for actual "work" LOL.
I don't think X79's memory bandwidth gives up any more performance in games either versus Z77. In the past you were forced into the "high end" chip-set because of PCI-E speeds, but with PCI-E 3.0 that has changed a bit. Quad-8x PCI-E 3.0 lanes should be plenty fast enough for multi-GPU configurations. Z77 will have almost the same total PCI-E bandwidth as X58 with the advent of PCI-E 3.0.

People been OCing the snot out of the 3820 since it came out. Being locked is a non issue with BCLK OCing wink.gif
It's not fully Locked either.
