Hello,
I am looking to upgrade my computer, currently I am running Asus-P4SD-VL, Radeon 9600 and 512 DDR Ram. Now,I have around 300 dollars to upgrade and I don't want to waste money on something that my mobo will reject. Can anyone please help me by recommendening a good videocard and some ram that is compatible and in my price range? I plan on using this computer for gaming ><

Sony VAIO I assume?

Upgrading an AGP Video card is not my recommendation, but given your budget, there are not many options. Any other upgrade path would entail motherboard/CPU/Video/RAM/Case/PSU, in other words, your whole rig (I am assuming that's a socket 478 rig). However, since you have $300, you might want to look into how much yuo could get for that Sony. With some luck, you might have enough for a nice PCI-E based rig. But, back to your question with some suggestions:

AGP Video card: SAPPHIRE 100174L Radeon X1650PRO 256MB 128-bit GDDR3 AGP 4X/8X $129.99 + $5.64 shipping
1 GB RAM: pqi TURBO 1GB (2 x 512MB) DDR 400 (PC 3200) $114.99 + $4.99 shipping

Yep, Vaio. So, what do you recommend I do? I'd like to be able to play all these new games coming out and can spend up to 600 at the most.

Ok, now $600 changes the whole equation. With 'All those new games', I assume current games, and near-future games. In January or so, Vista will come out, boasting DX10. However, I do not expect DX10 only games for about a year or so.

Let me get some suggestions for $600, which means abandoning your Sony case/PSU, etc.

I gave suggestions within $300 in my first post (1 GB RAM + AGP video).

Now looking into $600 upgrade (more substantial)

Going all out for a hair over $600:

MoBo: ASUS P5LD2 R2.0 Socket T (LGA 775) Intel 945P $106.99 Total: $578.95 + $30.45 shipping = $609.40

Then, you'll have some stuff from that Sony for sale, and after selling that, you can get another 1GB stick of RAM

Alternatively, sell the Sony as a whole (maybe get a little more?) and you might have a decent amount for a complete new rig, in which case Core 2 Duo might be within reach (cheapest CPU is $180, and the mobo I picked does already support Core 2 Duo, so it'll be about $45 on top of the listing above at least).
