It's about as good as a 9500gt... so heres a GENERAL idea of the performance you might get with one of those.

what is the budget? For some good games like Battlefield 3 and Call of Duty series or really any new game, you can get away with a nVidia GTX 550ti OR the GTX 460 since they are in the same price bracket of $110- $130 and do well on high settings. They support more than one monitor. I used to own a GTX 550ti and GTX 560 (which is not much different in performance than the GTX 460) and I was able to get away with high settings running 40-50 fps-- very playable. I would go with something like that honestly. The GT520 is very entry level in the 500 series and will struggle in a lot of the latest games. If your budget it a little higher and you have a more robust power supply unit, go for the $210 special they have the EVGA GTX 480. Incredible value currently and will plow any game out on max settings.

When picking out a sub-manufacturer - MSI and EVGA are both good. EVGA has outstanding customer service if it is every needed.

The GT520 is a very low end OEM card, you will be able to run new games, but only at a lowered resolution and very low detail settings (say about 1024x768) will you achieve decent frame rates. The card is very similar to the GT420 which I have in my second rig.

If you're not a very hardcore gamer, but still a gamer (with a certain budget) something in the AMD ATi HD57xx series or HD68xx series will do the job (HD7xxx series are still a little bit expensive). I don't know much about nVidia, but I know that a GTX560 is just a great card for price/performance. The GTX560 will handle most games fine if you don't go too hardcore on it. The GT520 is not good for gaming, but it will do most video/photo editing applications.

umm thanks guys this is for a friend of mine who thinsk to buy nvidia gt 520 .. for me well i think to buy Ati radeon 6670 1 gb ddr3 is it good ?
It's far far better than the GT520, but it's still not great. Gaming cards from AMD start at the 6750/6770.
What do you intend to use the 6670 for?

6670 is miles better than the 520, but it is still a really slow card in terms of gaming
