Sorry man, you're not going to get a decent/useable 50mm 1.4 for $100 unless someone is feeling really charitable or they don't know anything about photography.

POTN and FM have a bunch and the cheapest I've seen is about $300.

Hahah sorry, I am talking about Prime Lenses. They go for around $120.

The 1.4 is a lot more expensive. You won't get one for that price unless it's in VERY bad condition. Essentially enough to make it unusable. The 1.8 is worse in every way including IQ, sharpness, brightness, bokeh, and the lack of the USM.

Whatever you do, don't buy the 1.8. Awful lens.

That is not canon's current lineup and glass usually gets better in time as well as no mention of USM which normally adds a few hundred bucks by itself to higher end glass. Unless you know someone with that EXACT lens, you won't even know what the IQ is compared to the modern reincarnation. Just because there are some numerical stats doesn't mean every item with those numbers are equal. This is especially true among different manufacturers and different versions of an item within the same manufacturer. Just remember that usually, things are cheaper for a reason and I would say that lens would be well over $200 if it had USM.

The 1.8 isn't a bad lens, it depends if you have a half or full crop camera. It's decent for a full crop, but super tight on a half crop. I think on a half crop it's actually about 80mm? Can't remember the exact numbers.
