Description:
For Sale is a good condition Acer Iconia A500, bought at the end of April. All its life, my iconia was kept in a Zagg invisible shield, until January, when one end peeled a bit, and started collecting dirt. I was disgusted, and took off the protector. Two plus sides to this is, I've hardly used my iconia (3 times in the past two months), and it has the original industry standard Corning Gorilla Glass. No scratches. The whole aluminum body has been kept in mint condition and has been taken good care of. In fact, you might have even seen my initial impressions of the Iconia on OCN in April 2011. I want to sell this tablet because I no longer use it and need the money for upgrades. There is a bit of COSMETIC damage to the back camera cover, explained later in the thread. Other than that, this tablet is in pristine condition, just scroll through all 30+ pictures I've uploaded so far!

Ships With:

- Acer Iconia A500

-Original Box

- charger

-original documentation

- 2gb microSD card loaded with all the original ROM files and OC kernel.

- The nylon LCD cloth has been lost, but has been supplemented with the cloth that came with my Zagg Invisible shield (SCREEN PROTECTION )

My personal impressions and usage:
I used the Acer Iconia a500 primarily for browsing and Netflix/Media. I also used for document viewing and light editing through the usb 2.0 slot, something I found very handy. I enjoyed my time with the Iconia, though that has largely been supplemented with my Galaxy Note. That is the reason for my sale.

SLIGHT CORRECTION to amazon spec sheet. I believe the Acer Iconia, is the only tablet to have LPDDR3 and not DDR2, giving it higher memory ratings than other similar tablets. Also, I was never aware there was a 5400rpm drive. I'm pretty sure it runs on flash memory, just like nearly every other tablet in existence. Otherwise spec sheet seems spot on.

Modifications:

I will try to reset tablet to stock kernel and ROM is user wishes. Though, be warned, regular Honeycomb 3.2 is just plain awful. Not even kidding you. Why the heck else would I find a ROM? Google really didn't put much effort into it imo.

- Taboonay 2.2 Creator's Webpage: It included 3.2 with many bug fixes and lag fixes to Honeycomb

*Will update to 3.0.1 Taboonay at buyer's request, includes ICS 4.0.3 XDA thread

-Overclock Kernel: Modified Honeyvillian 2.6.36.3-3.4+ (I installed this during the summer of 2011, I did not bookmark the thread)

*I might install Ubuntu if buyer wants, but I'd have to find an easy to install guide and it would be after purchase by the viewer as it is not Android.

-Modest Overclocking (1200mhz) through most of its life when playing games or browsing the web, with restrictions placed through SetCPU to prevent too high an increase in temperature that may damage the internal components. I will do an OC of up to 1.5ghz and stress test and benchmark with quadrant and any other software (as long as it is free) for buyer.

-Mostly underclocked: For netflix or youtube, I had it underclocked *about 600mhz and less, SetCPU profile with conservative setting

Performance:

As you can see, in comparison to the engadget camera test shots, the camera cover did nothing to the actual lens, it is undamaged and still puts out pictures at acceptable quality.

The browser mark score is a bit blurry, it is around 120,000. My galaxy note on gingerbread 2.3.6 with no modifications at 1.5ghz Qualcomm s3 scores 60k on browsermark, stock broswer for reference. The Quadrant and browser mark scores were shot at 1.5ghz. This showcases HC and this custom rom with its lag fixes and the OC potential of this tablet. Plenty of performance still.

Quadrant: 3.2k+ @ 1.5ghz. That's what I call performance. Compare that to the Galaxy Nexus ( a new phone) running ICS (which is supposed to be optimized!)

So, both the browser and general usage is zippy.

Damage:

*I've posted the pictures* of both the damage and quality of pictures the tablet takes. As you can see, and compare to the Engadget pictures, the camera is in a perfect condition, and takes pictures as it is expected to. So the damage is purely cosmetic. . Hardly noticeable I might add, most people don't take pictures with the back camera.

The front camera is undamaged and perfectly fine.

The camera housing of the iconia has a piece missing. Now before anyone closes this tab and goes about their merry way, just know that the camera has not been affected at all. It works perfectly fine, and I will take shots later to prove the quality of the camera, and the flash functionality. This was a problem with the initial shipments of the Iconia, where the plastic covering (not lens) of the camera housing simply falls of. It was through no action of my own.

For Sale:
I will negotiate a price, PM me about any negotiations.

Shipping: Included in the price. USPS is my preferred shipping service. If you want to ship through another carrier or ship internationally, all additional costs to ship including insurance, must be payed for by the buyer.

Otherwise: Shipping is included in price

Payment: Done through Paypal. Send your email in your PM after buying confirmation/decision and I'll send the request in.

Upon Sale: Will completely wipe tablet. Processing time is about 3 Days.

Update 3: Still waiting on response/payment from buyer.

Update 2: -Pending payment-

Update 1 : I apologize for not posting sooner, I had to neglect both OCN and this sale for the past week or so because of family matters that came up. I am no longer looking for trades as much as cash to pay for bills. Thank you for your interest in the tablet. I again apologize for the low quality pictures, thanks to my low quality camera. The latter pictures are off the iconia itself. The pictures of the lone ipad that is. They showcase the 8x magnification, flash on and flash off. If you have any questions, ask away. I am slightly flexible with price, 225 is the best price I'm looking for.

Also, in regards to the picture, I thought it best to resume the posting and post some up. When I get access to my Nikon again, I'll have much higher quality pictures up. None of these pictures except for the second to last one (showcasing the Iconia's flash capability) was shot with flash.
