Bought a Crucial M4 128GB! Any good?

Thread Starter
Hi everyone,

Finally took the SSD plunge and the M4 had generally the best overall reviews and the price is awesome. I got it from Amazon for £120 ($188 USD).

Any other owners here? What are they like?

I've studied tons of reviews and it had the least negative points compared to other SSDs. I would have liked an Intel 520, but they are £50 more expensive.

I couldn't have been more happy with the M4. ...unless I had waited and got it for cheaper. I paid $215 for it last July and since then I've seen it on sale for as low as $130.

I wouldn't want to use my PC without it.

The M4 is one of best. There are some that are faster, but the M4 has a good track record and is very reliable.
You could have probably gotten it for less but $188 isn't bad.

If I had more $$ I would of got the 128 GB also! But price aside, this thing kicks the crap out of my OCZ Vertex 2. I wouldn't doubt OCZ botched there scores to seem like they are good at anything anymore. That's why I'll never purchase there sub-par products again.

Be sure to optimize your drive with some tweaks that will improve performance and longevity of your SSD. like this link- http://www.overclock.net/t/1156654/seans-windows-7-install-optimization-guide-for-ssds-hdds/0_100

After a windows 7 install and tweaking it, my entire installation was around 8-9GBs.

Enjoy your new drive! I've been loving my 64GB M4!

Excellent SSD.

After a thuroughly frustrating experience with OCZ SSD's, I picked up an M4. Problem solved. Will be picking up a second M4 for a RAID0,

FWIW, the OCZ drives were faster, but they were also incredibly unstable.
