lol, you're not the only one who tried that. It does not work like that tho. You need to use UNetbootin.

Thanks for the great guide. Does this work for all types of SSD's. I have a Sandforce based OCZ VerteX II. Can I use this before reinstalling windows?

Thanks for the guide! I just got a crucial M4 used, so I'm gonna try this. I wish I was able to before I sold my previous SSD.

One question guys, does the loading take more than 15 minutes because all I see is black and a bunch of white letters and numbers?

If the #'s and letter freeze for a few minutes it means there is a hardware incompatibility and you should try to disconnect any excess hardware such as sound cards, PCI cards, etc.

Also you can try HDDErase instead: http://forums.crucial.com/t5/Solid-State-Drives-SSD/Secure-Erase-Program/m-p/62531#M19287

I tryed used the hdderase, I followed the instructions including uninstalling the ssd drivers, but when I get to the point where it asks to choose my SSD, it shows nothing. Can't select my SSD.

Try plugging the SSD in a different port.
