Nah, Crucial doesn't have tool for it.

Can you link me to the Acronis thing? I never seen or heard of it before.

UPDATE! For anyone who may find themselves in a similar situaiton to what I was in.

I first assumed parted magic wasn't working due to the motherboards sleep issues. I tested sleep in windows and it found it was waking from sleep as it should headscratch.gif .

I found it strange that when using parted magic my PC would boot up when waking from sleep but would have no display. I decided to try using the onboard graphics instead (iGPU) and what do you know it worked biggrin.gif. I can now resume after putting my frozen drive to sleep in parted magic. I can only assume there is some issue with waking up the PCIe when not in windows.

My SSD is now fully erased!

My system specs are going to change soon so I'll just leave this here as a reference for people:

2600K
Asus P8Z68-V Pro
HD 7970
8GB (2x4GB) Corsair Vengeance 1866mhz
128GB Corsair C300 SSD
Corsair HX850

Thanks for the great guide.

You don't need to, I do it only if my drive is slow for some reason or im having issues. Just following my install guide is fine if you have TRIM working. If you have a RAID array however, yea do a secure erase.

Sean,

I'm glad I found this thread. I need to Secure Erase my RAID-0 array for my SSDs in order to do a fresh install of my OS.

The problem I'm having is that I cannot create a working bootable DVD and/or USB to use Parted Magic.

With the DVD, I keep getting a message that says, "PMAGIC_2012_4_21.sqfs cannot be found" and it forces me to restart the computer; in other words, Parted Magic never boots up.

When I tried to create a bootable USB drive using UNetBootIn, my USB drive letter is "R" (freshly formatted to FAT32) but that NEVER shows up in the dropdown menu under "USB Drive". Only the letters G/H/I/J/K/L/M/N show up and none of those are my USB drive. I tried about six different ports to no avail.

Please help!

*UPDATE*

I used UltraISO and was able to create a bootable USB for Parted Magic. However, now, although I am able to boot into the Parted Magic desktop, it freezes after a couple of seconds and it won't let me choose "Erase Disk". Everything just hangs after it boots into the desktop! HELP!

So when I did this, I got a whole bunch of "frozen" pop ups, about 10, but I also got the option to continue and so I clicked yes. Afterward, it said that the process was completed like the last image you have when you are done. Does this mean I erased successfully? I never put my computer to sleep.

Weird, idk. If the data on the drive is gone then it should have worked.
