[Fud] GTX 580 gets substantial price cut - Page 9

Another (French) source reports prices much more in line with what they really are (GTX580 never were priced at 379€), 50€ cuts on the 580 and 570, from 479€ and 349€ suggested price to 429€ and 299€ respectively. Much closer to real prices, which are still insane, especially for the 580.
If anyone want the link:

NCIX apparently has started cutting prices in advance of their next major sale on Wednesday, as exemplified by this PNY model for $449

1.5years old vs brand new. People will pay extra not only because of more performance, but also for not having to upgrade their psu as well.

Definitely. The biggest downside to buying 580s is their power draw. Kind of irked by this... I just bought 2 580s (one for $375, and a Lightning for $407)

I'm going to be watching these prices and jump on either 2x 580s or 570s. From what I can tell, I can safely run 2x 570s with my PSU and barely run 2x 580s with it. So not sure which direction to go as I want to get the most that I can and be good for at least 2 years, possibly. However, if the new one is just as good as the current 580s but less power and I can run with my existing PSU, then I'd have to consider that option, too.
