March Foldathon (19th-21st) - Raising Awareness for Osteogenesis Imperfecta & Ehler-Danlos Syndrome [Stats/Prizes Posted] - Page 32

Yes and yes. Give it about 20 minutes and report back if it still has no progress (verify the CPU is at 75% or above utilization in task manager in the mean time), and if your laptop and desktop both have your username and passkey in them then you will get points for both.

Pass key is for bonus points, you can use one passkey for all of your client/computers. As long as your user name is right, you will get all the points!

Yeah, that stack on the right is an optical drive on an SSD on a mechanical HDD on the PSU... It is "temporary"

That is a GTX570? You can run that thing at 90c all day long if you want to, I just sold my TFIII 570 because the high pitched whine while folding was getting to me.

EDIT: Also looking to sell a couple EVGA 570s if anyone is interested, 23k ppd whistle.gif

Ok cool, and just a thought, would i get more points with 3 GPU's alone? or my CPU alone?, and this PPD, is that the amount of points im expected to receive in a day? like after 24 h of your current folding you will get 24K points ? and IF for say my CPU is still locked at 100%, what else should i do?

I did try overclocking the card but I didn't have a clue what I was doing and it was making my GPU folding fail. Now I am running linux and have no idea how to OC it...

Now wondering whether to move that fan to push more air at the CPU - I would rather see a drop in CPU temp than GPU...

You should be able to run both cores of the 5970, the 5830, and 6 out of 8 threads of your CPU without problem and that is what I would recommend you run. Now if you had a concern with power usage or heat output then yes it would probably be best to just run all 8 threads of the CPU and no GPUs, but 3GPUs and 6/8 threads of the CPU is what I would do. Yes the 24K points per day (PPD) is what you can expect out of your GPUs if you ran them for 24 hours at their current rate. Did you do the client type advanced setup for all 3 of your GPUs? That's important to do with those AMD GPUs.

Didn't think so. NM, after this foldathon and once my case is done (2 days tops with any luck/motivation) I'll be going back to windows. I want to use Pro/Desktop but I don't think I can get it going using wine and the Windows VM I set up bugs out on me when I try to add any shapes to my design. Ditching Windows is pretty damned hard -.-

Yea that's the part of the guide I linked you to. If you've done that for all 3 GPUs and your CPU is on 6 threads you should be good to go. Has your CPU made any progress yet?
