Boot

I was attempting to flash my 6950 to 6970 by using a toolkit supplied on guru3d. Apparently I messed something up and now my computer turns on but I don't have connection to my monitor and I don't believe I have any connection to my USB either.

What can I do?

This happened to me with a few of the 6970 bios i'd tried with my 6950.

I followed this guide to correct it:

Link

I had intrernal graphics and a bios switch on my Graphics card. So i would switch the bios on my GPU, then under my MOBO BIOS changes the primary video device to the Internal GPU, then switch the BIOS back on my video card, then boot to my USB and flash the original BIOS. Then change the primary display device back to the 6950.

Edit: Which video card (brand, etc) do you have? Adding your signature rig to your profile will make it easier for us to assist.

I love you.

I have a powercolor 6950 and my motherboard is a gigabyte 970A-D3 which doesn't have intergated graphics but I have a working card on this rig.

Thanks a lot.

Glad you have a back up card. I'm assuming you backed up your original bios to right? thumb.gif

Couple good unlocking guides:

How To: Flash 6950 to 6970 Guide
The 6950 to 6970 unlock thread
Radeon HD 6950 shader unlock instructions
Tech Powerup Guide

I'm curious, which guide were you originally following?

Yea I have a backup of my BIOS.

I was suppose to be following this tutorial, but honestly, I wasn't really following the directions redface.gif

Gotta follow them directions biggrin.gif hehe.

I tried that guide myself but it wouldn't work for me (nor would any other way). Some cards just can't be flashed/unlocked (I think that means they are laser-cut or something).
