Well guys i made the switch from my AMD 3800 x2 which hit 2.7 to a e6300 and this thing hauls balls...

Anyways i looked at the bios in my board and started scratching my head..Can anyone familiar with this board help me out or explain how intel works as far as overclocking?

I'm just not that familiar with intel

don't get your hopes up since you can't overclock far with that mobo. Try raising FSB to 300 and see if its stable

Another school of thought is to increase your FSB slowly, in small increments to eventually find your highest stable oc

Since you came from AMD, you didn't know this, but NVIDIA chipset boards suck for overclcoking on Intel platforms........if you really want the maximum overclock, you would do better to get a Intel 975 or 965 chipset based board.

Regardless, my advise is to set your RAM speed to a reasonable target for 1:1. The CPU FSB is quad pumped, the RAM is double. So the CPU at 266FSB (1066 total) then the RAM would be 1:1 at 533Mhz (266x2=533)

So, a reaosnable target would be 300 FSB, so set your RAM to 600Mhz, leave the timings alone, and raise your FSB from the stock 266 to 275. Boot into Windows and test for stabability.....once it passes, increase FSB to 280, boot, test, repeat. When you get an error, bump the Vcore 1 notch and try again.......

This is my method of slow, steady overclocking......
