Help me get 5.0Ghz 2600k on Asus Maximus IV Stable!

Hey guys,

I just put together a new build this weekend. I have 6 2600k chips to gamble for 5.0Ghz 24/7 stable. So far I have : 5.0Ghz @ 1.48V but when I open up prime95 26.6 it will just freeze and restart. No BSOD. Just restarts. Is there something wrong with my OC settings?

Quick Specs:
2600K
Asus Maximus IV P67 B3
Antec Kuhler 620 (H100 soon)
7970
KINGWIN LZP-1000 1000W
120GB OCZ SSD Agility 3

I've been using Prime95 26.6, should I use the latest 27.4?

Isn't that the maximum recommended for 24/7?

Yeah I've read that a few weeks ago same with the Ultimate SB Guide

Specs:
2600K
Asus Maximus IV P67 B3
Antec Kuhler 620 (H100 soon)
7970
KINGWIN LZP-1000 1000W
120GB OCZ SSD Agility 3
Gskill 1.25V 8GB Sniper RAM
Phantom 410

The maximus bios is different from the pro.

For example, which one correlates with "CPU Current Capabilities"? Is it VCore Over-Current Protection?

Duty Control? Phase Control?

change you long/short power limits to 220 (random number i chose, 200-300 will do), duratiion to the max. That might help

EDIT: also, im assuming you are under water and a little extra voltage isn't a huge concern. I'd suggest putting your LLC to extreme 100%

EDIT2: if this helps, i get one of the lesser 2600k's right? biggrin.gif

all the articles i read say enable "execute disable bit" - never looked up exactly what it does

edit: speedstep is if you want your clock to drop when 5ghz is not needed. pretty useless if you only use it strictly for gaming/folding
