Help me get 5.0Ghz 2600k on Asus Maximus IV Stable! - Page 2

could just be an instability issue. up vcore .005 and try again. I had the same issue. my 2600k at 5.1 was t 1.51v and while folding, it would randomly restart every 8-12 hours. Upped it to 1.515 v and i've been folding for 48 hours with no restart.

Should I have Interla PLL / SPread spectrum enabled or disabled?

Guides said to put Internal PLL Overvoltage enabled when going past 4.8ghz

and Spread Spectrum Disabled/

Set the Memory frequency from Auto to it's stock speed.

Reduce the VCCIO to 1.1-1.15v

Set turbo multiplier to 50 (no need to change the multiplier CPU ratio in CPU configuration page)

Enable C1E and Speedstep.

Enable Spread Spectrum

Set PLL voltage to 1.6-1.7v

Here are my BIOS settings, obviously voltage requirement will vary between chips, but should be a good indication for all the other settings. Also just a note, I'm using offset and High LLC. For now, keep your's at Ultra high and use manual voltage. After you have 'found' your desired overclock, you can switch to offset.

Thank you!

But this is 2600k though. Will settings this similar able to achieve 24/7 5.0ghz?

Edit:

I currently have it set to 5.0Ghz @ 1.5V with all of the settings. Still crashing a few seconds into Prime/

1.52V and still crashing as soon as I start Prime.

Should I move on to the next CPU?

I would say so as only 10% of chips can do 5.0ghz 24/7
Small wonder.

According to info in the Sandy Stable thread and my own success with it, C3 / C6 states should be enabled/auto when using a fixed vcore, disabled when using offset/auto.

And I highly concur with Munaim's advice to use a lower PLL voltage. On my old board (P8Z68-V/GEN3), dropping from 1.80v down to 1.45v and methodically raising it up to 1.65v is what brought this chip from 4900MHz to 5100MHz stable. Also got to drop my vcore 0.010v.

By 'methodically' I mean bump it up one increment after each crash/error.
