I guess, but if you're running XBMC center as a front end, there are way cheaper options - mini-itx/atx build or just a Apple TV.

I actually had successfully set up a 780G IGP based/A64 X2 4000+ that i helped my mate spot and buy from the used market for peanuts just for a "sometime" HTPC. It didn't have any hdds just a 2GB SD card (it was found in one of the drawers) via USB adapter with Ubuntu 11.04 + persistence installed. (Pendrive linux ftw!) XBMC does the rest and the rig draws files from the main/server PC The XBMC add ons also added hours of fun
