Looking for good 1000W PSU - Page 5

Those voltages are within ATX spec if I'm not mistaken. For example, the 12 volt is still in spec if its between 11.5 and 12.5 volts. I don't think your PSU is the greatest, but no PSU will give the exact voltage for all the rails. In other news, I think your vdroop is a motherboard issue, I have the same problem on my 990FX UD3. If your board has LLC, use that, if not, call asus and see what they say thumb.gif

Oh, that setting is set to Auto. What should it be set at? Also, my temps are getting into the 50c range, maxed out at 59c. I am using a Zalman heatsink right now, as I have always had good luck with them. I'm going to redo the thermal paste, as I think I put too much on and may have air bubbles, but is there a better one that either has a red led fan or no lights? I keep seeing H100 mentioned, is that a good one? Sorry to be starting a second topic in this thread, I just keep forgetting to ask.

Turn it to disabled and see if that does something. The H100 is a good cpu cooler. I used one and got 55-60c 100% load

The higher you set the LLC, the more your load voltage should go up. As of now, you say your load voltage drops to 1.32 or whatever, so if you set it higher, this number should go up (ideally your load and idle voltage should be the same assuming you have all power saving measures turned off). The increased volts under load should be enough to stabilize your overclock and allow you to take your chip even farther! I cant really help you with air coolers, although I know the CoolerMaster Hyper 212+ is a good one. The H100 is like the best you can get for an all in one liquid cooling solution, assuming you can fit it in your case. thumb.gif

On Asus boards the LLC can have a few different levels, the higher the level the more stable it keeps your voltage under load (ie. stops your voltage drooping as much). The trade off is that your idle voltage may go up a little. For example my sig rig is set with 100% LLC, the voltage is set to 1.27v but because of LLC the actual idle voltage is 1.28v. However when I load up the CPU the voltage doesn't droop.

Its Vdroop.
LLC is the exact opposite of what you are saying, please do some research before posting.
Enable LLC and put on high,or whatever setting causes a flat voltage reaction on load

I have a Cooler Master HAF X. Room in my case is not an issue. I have the voltage set to 1.4v right now, I'll adjust the LLC and see if that stabilizes my overclock.

For Asus boards (maybe all boards) you don't set the LLC to the max setting, rather the 2nd highest (Ultra, not Extreme or whatever they call em). That should solve your voltage issues. I'm betting the wonderful folks at OCN just saved you $200 and you buying something you never really needed. thumb.gif

That they did. I was going to return my current psu, though. I'm glad I can keep it though. It came in a toolbox that is the perfect size for my needs. It's already full of tools and parts, and has helped me a lot. Lol.
