Looking for good 1000W PSU - Page 7

Thread Starter
I am going to be doing that sometime this week, when work isn't kicking my ass. I used the "put some on and spread it with the tip" method for my Arctic Silver 5. I may have put too much on, or have air bubbles.

Here is the link for my liquid cooling thread I started. Any input will be much appreciated!

You dont spread tim, just a blob the size of a grain of rice in the middle and let the clamping force do the rest.

That proved to not be sufficient in terms of coverage. Maybe slightly more than a grain of rice?

Usually a grain of rice size is good enough. You are probably seating it wrong or poorly

When I've done the grain of rice method before and pulled the heatsink back off later, there was plenty of uncovered area.

You only really need to make sure most of the centre area of the IHS is covered, doesn't matter if the 4 corners aren't covered since all the heat producing cores are in the middle.
