I think the name "Bulldozer" was most of the hype.

nothing bad about it, it just didnt live upto the expectations that everyone made it up to be..... I think its just a little before its time, win7 doesnt fully utilize its architecture, apparantly win8 will be better.... it does overclock like a monster tho (holds a world record).... IMO I love mine and am glad I purchased mine biggrin.gif , there is my 2cents.gif (notice I didnt mention the "I" word anywhere) lets keep it that way tongue.gif

simple answer, 2years ago i could have bought a phenom II x4 955 for £130 ,now i can get a FX-8120 for £130,they are selling 4 more core for the same price.double the product in two years .shame there not as good as an intel.
i read an engineering report, basically stated the die shrink will couse problems due to to little insullation, that might also be a problem intel have yet to face.

there is nothing bad with the cpu. it runs fast and is well priced. it dose run a little hot but if you get a aftermarket cooler then you will be fine. its just the way that amd advertised this CPU. the addressed it as the "intel killer. i was published as a lower cost CPU that would beat the i7 in all categories. the fact is that is doesn't. im not saying that this is a bad CPU. i own it. and i am very happy with the performance but it isn't the 3960x killer like it was advertised to be.
