Hi,

I'm looking at using the Black Ice GTX 560 for water cooling. The fans are 140mm what I need to know is can you use any 140mm fans or do you need a fans like the Noctua Ultra Silent 140mm Fan NF-P14 FLX (Brown). The mounting holes are 124.5 mm apart

There is no reason why you can't use a Gentle Typhoon fan on 140mm adapters to use on your Black Ice 560 radiator, I plan to use eight GT15's mounted on 140mm BGears adapters on two of my SR1 560 radiators. There aren't many medium to high rpm 140mm fans out there that are fast enough for the GTX radiators, that's why I went with the SR1 560 for it's ability to use low to medium rpm fans and still achieve very good temps.

To truly see what the GTX Series can really do is above 1800rpm's, that's difficult to accomplish with the current generation of 140mm fans! The Black Ice GTX 560 is considered high for hydraulic restriction, the Black Ice SR1 560 can perform better at slower rpm fans but does equally well at 1850rpm's. You won't see a noticeable difference between the two except for the hydraulic restriction, if you want things quiet the SR1 is best.

Use these AKASA fans

If you want the best performance and $$$ is not a problem then go with the 140mm San Ace fan . $60 each eek.gif

120mm fan + adapter is the best solution, even if you dont like it. I use it on my GTX280.
