Post Deployment Build

New guy to OCN heard some good things about the site and decided to join so I can further my skills with building and OC'ing. I've built one computer so far about 6 years ago, and I still have it. Old gigabyte amd mb with a Brisbane 5000 in it. I've upgraded the vid card and gpu with the times. But I'm about to come off deployment with some money so I've decided I'm happy that I can build another one. The first one I was cheap with. I did my homework as much as I could, built it, had a lot of fun. I toyed around with the BIOS,voltages and multipliers. And that's basically how I even found out about overclocking lol. This one I want to go all out on. More homework, advice and such. I'm going to spend approx $2300 on it so if I could get as much advice and help from you guys as possible that would be awesome.  Here are the list of components that's in my Newegg wish list;

Case: NZXT Phantom 410
Motherboard: Gigabyte X79 UD5
Processor: Intel Core i7-3930K Sandy Bridge-E 3.2GHz
RAM: Corsair DOMINATOR 16GB
GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 580 (Fermi) Classified
PSU: OCZ ModXStream Pro 700W
Cooling: Processor-Corsair H80 Liquid Cooling.
                RAM-Corsair CMXAF1 Air Cooled.
Fan Controller: NZXT Sentry-2 5.25 Touch Screen

EXTRAS: Keyboard-Logitech 920
                  Mouse-Razor DeathAdder
                  LITE-ON Blu-Ray Burner

Please tell me what I'm missing and if I screwed up somewhere. I've been thinking I should go with liquid cooling the GPU. Not sure if the stock air cool would cool that big of a card.

Your thoughts and recommendations are greatly appreciated.

THANKS GUYS. biggrin.gif

Get a better PSU, the one you've chosen isn't a very good PSU, you might want to get a Corsair TX750, or if you want a modular solution, go for the TX750M. And if you don't have budget constraints on the PSU, go for the HX750 or AX750 (better).

I've actually been having a lot of trouble choosing what PSU to get. I've been hearing a few problems with powering two of these cards in SLI with a 1 rail PSU. I know I havent projected two GPUs right now but that's what's to come later. Thanks for the imput I'll check all of those out.

PS: not sure if people are getting thrown off about the build cause I'm a "new guy" but I have every intention of building it, however I'm on a deployment in Afghanistan at the moment, this is my list to go off of. Money isn't an object really but I'm trying spend 2500 or less. With a few case modding odds and ends and a Hitachi external 750Gb USB 3.0 HDD I'm sitting at 2300ish. Thanks again guys.
