Well, being that Alibaba sells them they are probably much more likely to be able to acquire these than full coverage gas mask...just saying rolleyes.gif

Not sure if this is news. I saw something about this over 2 years ago.

Seems like an insanely unfair advantage...

Not even competitive at all...
At least the soldiers would live, if the enemy decides to "Secure" the defeated soldiers...
If not, well, it's not even going to be a fight...
This should never be used on Civilians, if and when that gets approved, it will be a very bad thing...

Why wouldn't you want an insanely unfair advantage in warfare?

All you need is some metal grill on your body and a metallic shield so you can protect the exposed parts of your body. Would be amusing to see that biggrin.gif

Look at your microwave window, you can see through but the photons cannot pass, I don't think you have to be fully covered by metal to be protected from this. I could very easily imagine myself wearing metal grill on my body with a gas mask and a shield if they ever use that on civilians!

Future weapon. In the next episode: Future Protester.

I can already see this thing being used as a torture device. Simply strap your unfortunate prisoner to a chair and turn it on until they can't take it anymore and confess. Hopefully it stays strictly in the hands of the US...

Photons can pass, microwaves cannot. Otherwise you couldn't see through the grill. tongue.gif

Edit, n/m, miscommunication. Microwaves also consist of photons, but at a different wavelength than light. Sorry for the confusion.

i bet they would say :oh but its non-lethal!people will still have unforseen lethal side effect in the long term, they always do!human body isnt made for this never was!you want to control people?you cant!gees!
everybody on the planet is bipolar ,be it people from izrael ,china, or usa!
when you find out how to remove the bipolar from human then we can all begin to have a nice solution
the closest to it is china.yet the military there screw everything up!even in usa or canada the system would be perfect if there wasnt a presidential veto prime minister veto side stepping all effeort!
so i am sorry but this is another invention designed for one single purpose .kill people because there are too many human on earth!

This thing is like stepping into a microwave, how is it safe? Just like how they were saying the airport body scanners were safe and then it was proven they were not and major airports started shutting them down.

Learn the difference between ionizing and non-ionizing radiation, please. Visible light is more powerful than the EM waves this puts out.

You're both partially wrong. The entire EM spectrum is photons.

Obviously, well yea I was talking about the specific photons constituting the microwaves, not visible spectrum hence the "photons cannot pass".

I realise this is confusing sorry.
I was just making the analogy with your microwave window, photons (emitted by the microwave) cannot pass through even with the big holes in the grill. I don't know the actual wavelength but if they are microwaves then you should be able to block them with a grill similar with the one you got in the window of your microwave (so the specific photons from the beam are blocked...)
