Are they sure that this is completely safe long term? Sure, it may be reversible, but then so is sunburn...seemingly. We know, however, that repeated exposure increases your risk of developing types of skin cancer.
Does this work the same way? Granted, I'd rather take my chances with this than with a bullet or tear gas, but still... just wondering.

Microwave ovens are shielded such that microwave beams will not escape, and if they were escaping you would know it right away due to excruciating pain. I'm not sure microwave beams of that intensity would cause cancer or not, but regardless, microwave beams from a microwave oven will not cause cancer.

Cancer would be the least of your worries if the microwaves from this were breaking your DNA's phophodiester bonds. Breaking covalent bonds with heat alone is incredibly hard to do, so you'd be dead from the heat long before you got cancer.

Don't wives and girlfriends already have an "Active Denial System" Non-Lethal Weapon that they use, such as the oldest one...

"Not now honey, I have a headache"

And many other 'Active Denial System' responses.

With all due respect to your grandmother, she probably doesn't have a physics degree. I've heard the same thing from someone else.

Microwaves can't escape that grill due to destructive interference (right). A way to test is put your phone in the microwave, shut the door (don't turn the microwave on), then try calling it.

Edit: Sorry, i've gone horribly off track there. This is cool, but why do armies always give stuff stupid names?

it was bad when it was from the nuclear weapon it is still bad even without the nuclear part!
i bet they would say :oh but its non-lethal!people will still have unforseen lethal side effect in the long term, they always do!human body isnt made for this never was!you want to control people?you cant!gees!
everybody on the planet is bipolar ,be it people from izrael ,china, or usa!
when you find out how to remove the bipolar from human then we can all begin to have a nice solution
the closest to it is china.yet the military there screw everything up!even in usa or canada the system would be perfect if there wasnt a presidential veto prime minister veto side stepping all effeort!
so i am sorry but this is another invention designed for one single purpose .kill people because there are too many human on earth!

This thread has gone from lead jackets to tin foil hats.
