So...disconnect incoming internet line + no mac address storing + turn off logging ftw? I still don't see what is so revolutionary about this, and without the entire net available it's a pretty dumb form of wide-distribution file-sharing. If I want something, and it's not in this box, I'm out of luck. Still not seeing the utility of this other than a toy to play with in your house. If you have a private network not connected to the internet, what do you care if the access point you're hooking up to is logging anything about your system? It never sees an external connection, so however the OS of the router is "customized," it's a moot point since no outside entity can see it anyway.

It is based on convenience. You can do it with an existing network just fine. What this offers is the ability to carry it around and plug it in whenever and have an instant file server. I wouldn't say it is revolutionary either, but for the masses it is an easy and convenient method, which makes it interesting.

Good for file sharing in dense areas I guess. The selection of files you will find will be orders of magnitude less than an online solution.
