Infinite Boot Loop Asrock P67 Extreme 4 Gen 3 Mobo

post #1 of 5
Thread Starter
Hello all,

I was having issues with mouse stuttering using an Asrock P67 Extreme 4 Gen 3 Mobo so I updated the BIOS to version 1.10. After I restarted I selected save changes and exit from the UEFI screen, and it brought me back to the same UEFI menu.

I then noticed that under boot priority my optical device and HD are not listed and it will always bring me back to the UEFI menu.

I have;

  • Cleared my CMOS
  • Flashed the BIOS with version 1.10 again
  • Checked the SATA connections

Now I wish I had just dealt with not being able to shoot properly in BF3 instead of updating the BIOS... Anyways any suggestions on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
John

Also you can try hitting F11 to get boot options and see if it will boot to windows after you select your OS drive, you may just need to get your boot priorities straight.

Under boot options in the bios click on BBS properties (or something similar to that) and you should be able to add any of your drives back into the boot options. The hard drive with your OS is possibly not in the preferred ports for booting on your board. Then add your OS HDD as the #1 boot option again.

Thanks for the replies.

My clock speed is set to automatic in the BIOS settings.

I checked my boot priority and it shows my SATA ports as not deteced so I am unable to pick my boot priority. ::Palm Slap:: That explains the booting back to the set up screen. Both the SATA controllers are set to thier default options (IDE).

Any ideas?
