AMD Overdrive Monitoring Question

Thread Starter
Perhaps this should go in the software section, but since its in direct relation with my hardware I thought I'd give it a shot here.

I was using Overdrive to monitor, not overclock. So far, and correct me if Im wrong, its by far the best tool out there for accurately providing loads, temps, voltages, multiplier and frequency per individual core, in real time. I am also having an issue where my multiplier decreases under load and I wanted to doublecheck with Overdrive that Core Boost was disabled (I think it would show this).

Anyhow, Overdrive was working great for me until I was told to install Catalyst Control Software as a tip to check for the above. I did the install, it was faulty and resulted in having no catalyst software, and it corrupted my Overdrive somehow. Now when I try to start it it says "AMD Overdrive Failed to Start"

I have tried uninstalling reinstalling in many ways. I also checked easytune 6 and made sure it was properly installed.

I feel like theres an issue now with corrupted drivers, registry, or overwritten files that overdrive and catalyst would have in common.

My system is in my signature, if someone know what the deal is I'd love some input, otherwise im back to reformatting again.

Thanks,
Dan

1) If you have a restore points before install that catalyst control software, I'd go with restore and check if works.
2) I'd use ccleaner for clean all temp files and clear the register of your rig.
3) For monitoring the temps and those stuffs, I prefer use Core temp or HWmonitor.
