I need help choosing memory for my setup

Thread Starter
Hi,
I installed windows 7 64Bit and only have 2gigs of memory installed. My old dominator 800's. The other two sticks are bad. Do I install 2x2GB sticks and I am not sure what will run good with my old setup. Any help is appreciated.

I'm not looking to spend top dollar. I do play battlefield 3, but would like to play it on a higher vid setting minus the lag. Thanks.

Sorry updated post. I'm using 64bit

Correct me if I'm wrong, but with 32 bit windows you are limited to 4 GB ram right? I would just look for a decent 4 GB (2X 2GB) kit at a price that seems reasonable. No point in spending big bucks on your system when it is starting to show its age.

look at G.Skill ripjawsX, Corsair, samsung 30nm RAM, Muskin to name a few brands, get a 2 x 4GB 1600 CL9 or CL8 kit is all you really need thumb.gif

Thanks for getting back to me. If I am not overclocking, will I still need 1066mhz or is 800mhz fine? I definitely want at least 4gb 2x2gb?
PC2- 6400's or PC2-8500's. or do i just say the heck with it and wait to upgrade my system completely and move on to DDR3's? Thats going to be a year or so. Thanks
