i7 920 Cant get past 3.1 ghz

Thread Starter
Coming from and EVGA sli le trying to get this 920 to 3.5ghz
Its a co/c1 so I know voltages are going to be high
currently the blck is at 150
the multiplier is at 21
and the cpu voltage is 1.34375

as soon as I kick it up too 155 or 160 it doesn't post and it resets all my bios settings really annoying and I am highly frustrated.

I haven't touched the ram only set the volts which are rated too 1.65

All Intel technologies are disabled

I have the latest bios for the Sabertooth

and I have an H50 with 2 ap-15's in push pull I am currently running Prime and monitoring temps with my current settings I will post a pic..

My advice would be to leave the BLCK at 150 and raise the multi some more. Try this thread Ultimate SB Overclocking Guide.

He has 1366 not 1155.

There are other things to consider besides CPU voltage. You may need to raise your QPI voltage the more you raise the BCLK as well you may need to reduce your ram ratio.

Here's a guide to help you understand some of the basics, I'm sure there's probably better ones around google as well. GL

Is the XMS3 rated for 1.65v? The x58 is usually a bit iffy at that voltage and considering you are running the memories under 1333mhz, I'd try and lower that to 1.5 ~ 1.53 v.
