AMD phenom ii 1090T being a pain in my tooooooosh

ok, ive looked around at a bunch of posts of others attempting the O.C. on the terrible thuban (only call it that because i want to step on it)

Heres my problem.

i have read over and read more and then read some more. i can NOT get my cpu stable at an overclock.

i suspect 1 of 2 things

motherboard not cooperating (ASUS M4A87TD evo)

or my RAM is the issue (Gskill ripjaw 1333)

i have decided to take it back to step 1 but i require some assistance. anyone willing to give me a hand would be a saint.

Thank you!

KEY NOTES:
to start, i have done the babysteps. Increased my multiplier until i couldnt boot, then uped the vcore, etc.

i get to 3.8 and get an instant prime fail after about 30 seconds, everything else i have tweaked said NOPE.

HELP!

if you are leaving the reference clock at 200 and you ram multi at 6.66 then the ram will be at 1333 and shouldn't be causing the crashes.

a lot of phenom iis start to hit a multi wall around 3.8-4 and need considerably more voltage for each multiplier bump.

what is your voltage at 3.8? how high have you tried it?

alternatively consider using the reference clock to overclock, though this will involve changing the ram multi, the hypertransport multi, and (depending on what cpu-nb oc you want) the cpu-nb multi and voltage.

im trying for a 4.0ghz O.C. but i am setting only the multiplier to 20. i set the DRAM to 1333 and i have had my Vcore as high as 1.53v

Still crashes.

My last config that i tried i had a
1.53 Vcore,
multy to 20.
CPU-NB to 3000mhz
HT to 2600
dram 1333
i gave NB 1.3+v
HT link i gave 1.24v

i have the correct settings diabled

i am not THAT new to this, ive gone on and off trying for 4Ghz, but i cant find my sweet spot

my cpu hates me

drop the ht back to 2.0
drop cpu-nb to 2.8 for the time being

see if you can get a 4.0/2.8 stale or a 4.0/2.6 stable.
