I really have no clue what thread section to make but i wanna know if anyone has encounter this recently or not? I refused to enter my password cuz this is a first time i seen this happen. Did Steam do a update or am i being possibly hacked? I would like a second opinion before i do anything. I have a very clean PC and hardly anything on at all. So far i know it requested me to enter my password again. This is not right. Asking me to re-enter my password? Has anyone encounter this recently at all?

This has not happened to me recently but it has happened to me before. I believe it's simply a STEAM client error and I just retyped my password and I was able to log in. It's been about a year since that happened and I still have my account and no changes. Plus if you have Steam Guard enabled, there isn't really any danger unless your steam and e-mail passwords are the same.

No not a email at all. Steam launcher. I launched it earlier and logged in and bam i got a message saying my account credentials are expired. But i do see a steam background store and friend list on my desktop but it's asking me to re-enter my password. I don't understand why. I never did anything and i NEVER save my passwords. I always use hard coded passwords and i exit Steam and made this thread right away. Wasn't sure what to do or is this safe or was there a recent update or something? I just wanted to play it safe before i do anything. Thanks for responding asap.thumb.gif

What happens when you reboot steam? Can you provide a screenshot?

I could provide a screenie, this only happened once when i logged in first and this thing came up. I could try booting again? Cuz i haven't done that so. I wasn't so sure if i should until i get a verified answer my steam isn't hijacked or anything or maybe it's something else. I have tons of games on there i really don't wanna lose. I'm still unsure if i should attempt to re-login. I'm paranoid as it is but this doesn't make any sense because i HARDLY have anything else on my PC but BF3 and a SSD and that's it besides Photoshop and pictures and that's it. I don't have anything crammed on my SSD and regular Hard Drive at all? What gives? I been doing research. Some said hijack attempt, some said maintenance, i don't know either one. Meh! Don't know what to do really right now. And i did a FULL scan with MSE twice and no viruses or anything detected. Hmph.. i'm just baffled why Steam did this to me the first time!

Try rebooting, I think its a server load, the credential request thing is actually part of steam so you dont have to be worried.
Check here it is confirmed its not accounting jacking.
